Whittle & WedgeTM
Whittle & Wedge™ represents our line of culinary, artful furnishings, and farmhouse chic. Hand crafted from unfinished salvaged Douglas fir, French oak, Red pine and Redwood timbers from age old warehouses, bridges, railroad trestles and wineries throughout the US. Our designs bare a distinguished provenance. Distinguished grain character and distressed as only age and weather can deliver. As nothing is discarded in our shop, we found an excellent use for the drops. Our customers suggested we allow our skilled craftsmen create for the kitchen, great room, and master suite and bath. We were delighted, and let creativity flow.
VinoPlankTM
VinoPlank™ represents a manufacturing and construction material of truly rare vintage. Made exclusively in Healdsburg, California by Sonoma Millworks.
With VinoPlank™, we have developed an entirely new breed of wood product for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, countertops, bars, wall panels, room dividers—the list of applications goes on and on. Vinoplank™ begins with the toasted oak tasting sticks inserted into the industrial-sized stainless steel tanks during the fermentation process. The basic idea is that the strips imbue a prized “woody” flavor that enhances a wine’s bouquet. As with most things, the tasting sticks need to be replaced over time.

Sonoma Pavilions are special places for life’s treasured moments. Set apart from the hustle and bustle, they are sanctuaries of tranquility and inspiration. The soaring ceilings of combed spruce exalt the spirit. The low sweeping eaves over generous verandas offer serene enjoyment of natural surroundings. The strength of the massive columns and the delightful simplicity of timber frame joinery impress and intrigue. It is difficult to pinpoint the sublime appeal of these elevated spaces, except to say that we are drawn to them. They seem to evoke a unique emotional response, perhaps rooted in our fondest childhood memories of a treehouse or a secret hideaway. Open and airy with supreme views of natural beauty all around, they are cozy retreats that enhance life’s pleasures.
Salvaging historic architectural wood is a noble endeavor. Transforming that material into functional art however is epic.
